Emma's First Soccer game

Emma had her first Soccer game on Saturday September the 8th. Their team is called the Soccer Monsters. Their uniforms aren't in yet but they are going to be purple and white. You know I was hoping for pink ....oh well. Anyway, lets just say that Emma will not be making soccer her occupation. She likes being there and playing with the other girls, but as far as actually playing soccer......she isn't really into that. She stands there looking around and if the ball should come near her she is sure to get out of the way. Oh well, her mother and father aren't exactly athletic either so she comes by it naturally. I guess we will encourage the dance/singing/musical instrument route.

First Day of School

Well, on August 22nd Emma started Pre-K 4. She is going 5 days a week from 8:00 until 3:00. When we decided to do this last year, I thought it was going to be great. Well, it is great....for Emma. I have to say though that I am having some difficulty adjusting. I didn't think I would be one of those mothers who would have a hard time. I think that part of it is just that it seems like such a turning point in both of our lives. She is my one and only child and now I will NEVER have a preschooler again. Done, finished, never to return. How very sad is that???? Almost makes me want to have another child. Just kidding.....I will learn to deal with it. But I am sad to think that my little girl is growing up and is now in school. I know that I will blink and she will be grown. Here are a few pictures of her big day.

The crew is coming

So...there is a film crew coming to our house next week. They are making a documentary about our family. It sounded like fun at the beginning, but now, I am VERY nervous. They came down for one day about 3 weeks ago. They were only with us for about 4 hours, but it was weird. They say "just do what you normally do", but HELLO, I don't usually do it with a camera stuck in my face. Anyway, I am nervous about the whole thing. They are going to follow us around for 4 days. Work, social stuff, church....everything. So, we will see how it goes. I hope they aren't too bored...we aren't really the most exciting family or anything.

Princess Dance

Princess Dance

Emma went to Princess with a Purpose Camp. It is a wonderful camp that teaches little girls that they ARE a true princess because they are daughters of the ONE TRUE king. She loved it. They had a tea on the last day that the parents got to come to. The video is of the dance they did at the Tea.

No Tubes!!!!

Yea!!! We found out this afternoon that Emma DOES NOT have to get tubes put in her ears. We thought she was going to have to and I even thought that today when we went in that we would be scheduling it. But, they re-tested her hearing and she is in the "normal" range now and so we will wait and watch. So, no tubes for now ......

San Antonio

We went to Sea World over July 4th. We had a great time. Emma was a little leary of the whales, but she really liked the Sea Lions.

Everywhere we went Emma managed to make a friend!! She met a little girl named Maddison and a little boy named Austin. She certainly doesn't get that outgoing personality from her Mother. She will talk to anyone and everyone.
On 7/7/07 my grandmother turned 87!! So, my Dad flew down to San Antonio ( the party was at my Aunt's about 45 minutes away) to go to the party with us. We managed to squeeze in a quick trip to the Alamo while he was here too.

Dance Recital

Emma had her 3rd dance recital in May. She also received her 3rd year trophy!! She was the youngest one to get a 3 year trophy. They are supposed to be 2 1/2 before they start taking classes but, Emma was 18 months.... because she has a crazy pushy mother who insisted on it. Sorry Emma...Mommy has issues!!! But she did and does LOVE dance. So...I guess it all worked out.

Oklahoma with Friends

Last weekend we went to Beavers Bend State Park with our friends. They have 2 children, Hannah and Noah. Emma really loves being with the 2 of them and they all get along really well. We all went hiking on Saturday. I had never hiked before....but it was kinda fun. I could do without the bugs, but everything was so pretty. We stayed in a great cabin...it even had a hot tub! The kids loved "swimming " in the hot tub.

Day at the Zoo with Daddy

Emma and Tim had a Daddy daughter day at the zoo!! They rode the train down to the zoo and spent the day together. The first time we went Emma was not very excited about the bird habitat but she loved it this time. I can't believe she is touching a bird!!! She said that they had a great day.

Fun in the Bluebonnets

Stacey and I took Caitlin and Emma to take their pictures in the bluebonnets. The girls had so much fun running around in the flowers!!!

Night out with friends!!

Emma and I went to eat at Joe's Crab Shack with two of my friends and their daughters ....Hannah and Bean. The girls had a great time playing on the outdoor playground. The playground is also a big sandbox. The girls thought it was great fun to poor sand on each other's heads. When we got home and I bathed Emma I was shocked to see how much sand was left in the bath tub when we were done!!!

Emma's 4th Birthday

For Emma's 4th birthday she wanted to have Cinderella come to her house. After a lot of searching we found a great one!! Emma's birthday was in Feb. but we couldn't get this Cinderella until March 17th ....that is when we had her party. I will say...she was worth the wait. Emma and all her friends had a wonderful time. When Cinderella was leaving, Emma asked her if she could come to ALL her partys. I LOVE her cake!!! It is the cake I always dreamed of having as a little girl. So...since I never had one....I got one for my little princess. I hope this is one of those birthdays she will always remember. I know I will.

Easter with NaNa

Well...I am a little late in the game to be starting this whole blog thing...but I guess it is better late than never. My daughter Emma turned 4 on Feb.12, 2007. She is such a sweet girl with a loving heart. She is my WHOLE world and I thank God everyday for giving her to me. She is my first and only child. Therefore...as you will see...a little bit spoiled.

My first pictures are of she and her cousin Caitlin. Emma nicknamed Caitlin, NaNa when she was very little and it stuck. I actually think Caitlin likes that Emma calls her NaNa...and is very possessive of her nickname. She is quick to let other people know that only Emma is allowed to call her that. These pictures were taken at Bent Tree Country Club last Saturday. They have a Easter party for the children every year and we have made it a tradition to take the girls. We always have so much fun!!
